How do we develop students’ math
skills and subject interest?
Improved understanding of concepts
At e360, we provide students with personalized instruction to help them better understand concepts with which they may struggle. By working closely with students, our tutors provide additional explanations and examples to help students grasp difficult concepts and apply them effectively.
Increased confidence
When students receive individualized attention and support in math, they feel more confident in their ability to understand concepts and apply their knowledge. As a result, students approach new material with a more positive attitude, which in turn improves student performance.
Improved Grades and Academic Performance
As students improve their math proficiency and gain confidence, they also develop critical thinking skills. By learning how to think critically and apply their knowledge, students can perform better on a variety of exams and assignments across different subjects.
Enhanced problem-solving skills
Math proficiency helps students develop problem-solving skills that can be applied to other areas of their academic and personal lives. At e360, our tutors help students develop strategies for approaching math problems and teach them how to analyze problems in different contexts and solve them step-by-step.
Prepared Text Takers
Schools and colleges rely heavily on standardized tests to measure student proficiency. At e360, we help prepare students for a range of texts (including the SAT, ACT, GRE, and GMAT) by familiarizing them with test content and strategies, and developing students’ areas of weakness. When students improve their subject knowledge and know how to apply it, they can better demonstrate their expertise.
Why do some students struggle with math?
Math is often perceived as a difficult subject, and, without individualized support, many students are intimidated by the array of complex concepts and formulas, leading to a lack of confidence and motivation. Additionally, traditional math instruction often focuses on memorization and rote learning, leaving students bored and uncertain of math’s real-world applications. This intimidation and disengagement can be difficult to counter given the constraints of traditional class instruction. Some students struggle with math because they have not been taught using effective, varied teaching methods that align with their learning style. One-size-fits-all approaches, aimed at a larger class, may not work for all students, and some may require more individualized attention. When students fall behind, these issues become even more pronounced.

Our holistic approach to math instruction focuses on math fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and the academic language of math. This integrated approach motivates students and instills curiosity and engagement in the learning process, while fostering a deeper appreciation of math and its uses.

Fundamentals of Math
Our emphasis on the fundamentals of math provides students with a strong foundation in the core concepts and skills that form the basis of higher mathematical reasoning. Our tutors focus on knowledge and skills in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and other key areas, while highlighting the connections between these areas. By building a strong foundation, students gain confidence in their mathematical knowledge and abilities, and become prepared for more advanced topics.
Problem-Solving
Problem-solving is a critical skill in both math and daily life. At e360, our approach focuses on developing students’ problem-solving skills through a range of activities and exercises. By engaging in real-world problems and scenarios, students see how math can be applied to solve practical problems in their own lives. In turn, this can spark student curiosity and encourage students to explore math in greater depth.
Academic Language
At e360, we believe that a deep knowledge of mathematical concepts must go beyond the ability to perform operations and find solutions. Instead, students should be able to communicate the underlying reasons and concepts for their operations. With this goal, our tutors emphasize the academic language and vocabulary of math. Through instruction and support, students learn the meaning of terminology in different contexts and increase their ability express higher concepts effectively. To foster curiosity, we encourage students to ask questions, explore different approaches to problem solving, and engage in discussions with their peers. At every level of learning, our tutors present each concept with realtime problems that need solving. With support, students learn how use their conceptual knowledge to uncover solutions. To best support individual students, our tutors use a variety of teaching methods and materials alongside self-learning tools and interactive activities.
Overall, our approach to improving math proficiency aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of mathematical concepts, while also encouraging curiosity and engagement in the learning process. By combining student engagement with math fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and the academic language of math, we strive to inspire students to develop a lifelong love of math and a curiosity that will lead them to explore the subject in greater depth.
